"Life's Lessons"
Scott Dyer got more than a free trip to New York as a contestant on Millionaire, he also got a lesson on how he can improve his work with the Willow Creek Church. As a singer and songwriter who produces CDs for the church, Scott was excited to watch how the hit show was put together. He said that, in itself, was inspiring.

"It was the process of stuff," explains Scott. "The executive producer, Michael Davies, was on of the most impressive people I've ever met. He really raised the values of the staff, making it (being on the show) an experience for people." It was Davies passion as a leader in such a creative environment that impressed Scott.
You could tell he loved what he did, and that translated to the other members of the team, too," said Scott. Scott only met Davies for an hour and a half during the taping. He said Davies made the contestants comfortable in what could be a nerve-wracking situation.

"You can tell he is a great reader of people; he's trying to look deeper than most people do," said Scott. That's the kind of quality that Scott strives for in his work with Willow Creek, a south Barrington church that fills the aisles with 17,000 people a weekend.

Scott never made it past the fast finger round, but he says the trip was a very valuable experience. "It gave me insight into leading people in the creative environment. That helped me in my work."
